I'm not quite sure what to make of Tarajalejo... we arrived here fairly early in the morning at Easter 2009, for a look around and we were definitely too early. There is a large hotel here, which seemed deserted, as did the beach. Maybe it all opens closer to summer time. It certainly felt as if we were there out of season. Apparently, the beach here is safe for swimming, so popular with families and there is a good network of paths for walking and cycling in the area.
Close by, at La Latija, is the Oasis Park botanical gardens and zoo. Here, you can see animals from all over the world, including chimpanzees, crocodiles, exotic birds, zebras, giraffes and antelopes. There is a large botanical gardens, where you can also buy plants and you can even go on a camel safari here! NEXT ->
