Fuerteventura, Canary Islands : Risco el Paso - Windsurfer Beach
This is a fabulous place for the experts - and the less expert. The sand is flat, golden and well compacted so it doesn't blow in your face. When we were there (Easter 2009) the waves were lively and provided for some exciting surfing. But also, there is a sandy bar a few metres off the shore so that beginners could practise in a shallow lagoon. When we were there, the wind was blowing parallel to the shore, which made for fantastic condidtions. Many surfers were here with their families - some were day-trippers and others semed to be staying at the little village up the road, where some self catering accommodation was advertised. There was a large equipment hire tent/hut on the beach, which also served great snacks/meals and cold drinks. It was a great spot. MORE... |
