This is the wide, dark sandy beach at Gran Tarajal, in the south east of Fuerteventura. It was never busier than this each time we visited (Easter 2009) and seemed to be mercifully less windy than many of the beaches we visited that week.
Gran Tarajal is not developed for tourists. We didn't see any hotels or tourist accommodation at all. It is, however a lovely spot for a day trip, with a curving, sandy bay, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and a wide, pedestrianised promenade. NEXT ->
