It is well worth hiring a car in Fuerteventura and travelling these amazing roads. While we were there in Easter 2009, most of the time, the roads were virtually empty. The mountain scenery is breath-taking.
This shot was taken from the top of one of the high roads leading between Betancuria and Pajara in the middle-south of the island.
You can see straight down the sides of the volcano to the dried-up, dammed valley. The magnificent mountains stretch away and there are frequent lay-bys to pull in and enjoy the view. Gorgeous. NEXT ->
