Islote de Lobos - beach, cove
This tiny island, Islote de Lobos, is situated just off the coast of Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura. It is almost completely deserted, except for a few fishermen's cottages, which are mainly occupied in the warmer months and the weekends.
This beautiful volcanic island has many little coves like this one, sheltered from the sea by a rocky bar. It's a great place for a day trip. You can catch the boat out from Corralejo (8 Euros return, Easter 2009) and stay as long as you want - as long as you don't miss the last one home.
There are no shops here, no toilets, no electricity (other than a generator) and one little "restaurant". (It's a bit basic, but the food looked good.)
In fact, all there is to do here is walk along the many way-marked paths, do a spot of bird-watching, swim, fish and relax in Nature's beauty. Bliss. NEXT ->
