Fuerteventura, Canary Islands : Corralejo - Dunas and Beach
We were here in April 2009 and it was positively unpleasant on the beach, unless you had a wind break. Perfect for a free exfoliation but not very nice when sand is throwing itself horizontally at you. Non stop. We hadn't realised how hot the sun was until we found some shelter from the wind and were able to take our jackets off! This shot was taken between the two very large, Rio hotels which are situated right on the beach here - the Riu Palace Tres Islas Hotel and the Clubhotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort. MORE... |

"This huge, sandy, beautiful beach at Corralejo looks like everyone's dream of perfection: turquoise sea, silver sand, blue sky, hot sun. That's because you can't see the wind.
