Fuerteventura, Canary Islands : Hotel Costa Calma Palace - Playa de Sotavento, Jandia
We walked through the hotel, descending its sumptuous stairways, past the boutiques, restaurants and piano bar to emerge at the swimming pools and then through to the sandy, flat, long and EXTREMELY WINDY beach. Man may have been able to provide for all things commercial here, in beautiful surroundings, but the wind is still King. MORE... |

"This is one of the huge and luxurious hotels in the Costa Calma region of Jandia, right down in the south of Fuerteventura. Its impressive frontage, complete with a fountain, large carpark and flower-beds, lead onto a small street, parallel to the main road running south along the Jandia peninsula. There are woods between the two roads, keeping it calm and quiet. A pedestrian pathway takes you over the roads and to an enormous shopping centre - the Centre Commercial El Palmeral, the CC Plaza and the CC Internacional.
