Casa de los Coroneles, La Oliva. (The Colonel's House)
This beautiful old house is to be found at the inland town of La Oliva, to the north of Fuerteventura. Although somewhat uninspiring from the outside, it is a fascinating building and we really enjoyed exploring it. It is built almost entirely of wood and positioned around a square courtyard. It has a lovely, peaceful atmosphere, with birds twittering overhead in the trees and the blessed mix of wind-free sunshine, in the courtyard.
