Molino - Windmill at Antigua
We stayed for a week in the village of Antigua, made famous for its windmill. There are actually quite a few windmills like this on the island of Fuerteventura, although this one has a visitor centre and museum attached too.
We paid to go in and visited the exhibitions, which showed the development of Fuerteventura from its days when it was inhabited only by the native Guanche population, through its invasion by Spanish and other settlers to the present day.
The exhibits were rather dry and not at alll interactive - there's a lot of reading to do. However, the entertainment was enriched by hilarious illustrations of particularly attractive, semi-naked, curvacious Guanche women, clutching rugged and handsome, injured warriors to their breasts. Obviously political correctness hasn't reached Fuerteventura yet - neither has historical accuracy I imagine. NEXT ->
